Landlord Accreditation Scotland
Accreditation for Landlords
What is Accreditation for Landlords
Accreditation with LAS demonstrates the competence, reliability, and integrity of Scottish landlords. Accredited landlords provide confidence to those who use their services that they can be trusted to deliver promised high levels of service.
The standards that have to be met to become accredited with LAS are reasonable and realistic. If you are already carrying out good management practices in your lettings business, you are already well on the way to achieving them. LAS helps you to stay up to date with change, and remain compliant with legislation and shows you how best practice can help with the day to day management of your tenancies.
The benefits to becoming an accredited landlord
LAS is not a membership organisation so landlords don’t pay an annual fee, webinars and information are accessed on a pay as you go basis.
Discounted Rate
Accredited landlords receive the best price for all our webinars and events. Webinars provide key information and guidance to help landlords with the day to day business of letting property in Scotland.

How Do I Qualify?
The application consists of a self-certification accreditation checklist allowing landlords to confirm that they meet the required standards.
Accreditation is dependent on full compliance with the Scottish Core Standards for Accredited Landlords. Not all properties will be inspected; however a proportion may be inspected by LAS representatives if it is considered appropriate where serious concerns have been raised by tenants.
How Much Does it Cost?
Accreditation for landlords is free.
We do require landlords who manage their own properties to attend any one of our webinars or information sessions in each year of your accreditation. For those landlords with staff carrying out the day to day property and tenancy management on their behalf, we require each member of staff to attend one of the LAS webinars in each year of the landlords accreditation.
Are There Refusals?
Landlord Accreditation Scotland has the right to refuse the accreditation of any landlord if it is felt that the applicant does not meet the standards expected of the scheme.
