Construction (CDM) Regulations and Asbestos Awareness for Letting Agents
-
22 April 10:00 BST - 22 April 11:00 BST Online
This 1-hour webinar provides Scottish letting agents with a clear and practical overview of why Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) and asbestos awareness are relevant to day-to-day property management.
Letting agents regularly arrange repairs, maintenance, and improvement works on behalf of landlords. In some circumstances, this can bring responsibilities under CDM and asbestos legislation. This session explains when those responsibilities may apply, what is reasonably expected of letting agents, and how to manage works safely, proportionately, and in line with good practice.
The webinar equips letting agents with the knowledge required to safeguard landlords, tenants, and their own business by understanding key CDM and asbestos responsibilities and applying them in a proportionate and professional way.
Topics explored in this session:
- The letting agent’s role under the Code of Practice and Repairing Standard
- When repair and maintenance works may be classed as construction
- CDM awareness: relevance to landlords and letting agents
- Selecting and managing competent contractors
- Asbestos awareness in residential and common areas
- Good practice for communication, records, and risk management
