The Letting Agent Compliance Programme Module 3 - Marketing to moving in

This stage of the letting process has more moving parts than almost any other; marketing the property, matching it to the right tenant, managing the application, and setting up the tenancy. Get it right, and both the landlord and tenant start the tenancy with clear, aligned expectations. Get it wrong and you can be managing friction from day one.

The letting process is covered in Section 4 of the Letting Agent Code of Practice. Delivered online over two sessions, agency staff work through the full journey, from how a property is marketed, through viewings and applications and referencing, to a well-prepared tenancy agreement, with a focus on setting landlords and tenants up for a tenancy that works for both sides.

  • Marketing property in a compliant way that attracts the right tenant and sets exact expectations from the outset
  • Managing viewings and applications fairly, including how to reduce the risk of discrimination claims
  • Setting up the tenancy: lease preparation and deposits, done properly the first time

  • Tenancy applications
  • Setting up a tenancy, including lease preparation and deposits

Who is this webinar for: This course is suitable for agency staff who work closely with the landlord in the initial stages of letting their property. Staff who offer and then process tenancy applications and those who prepare tenancy agreements should also attend this session.

Learning Format

A virtual classroom is a learning environment where participants can interact, communicate, view and discuss material, while working in groups, via an online platform. LAS use Zoom.

For LACP training modules delivered virtually, the webinar facilitator will confirm a delegate is present and therefore delegates need to be visible via camera or have made LAS aware in advance of why this is not possible.
