Terms & Conditions

By requesting a place to attend any of our Core Information or Best Practice webinars, you are confirming your agreement with the relevant terms and conditions specified below: 

Section A: Definitions

“Webinar” means a training session delivered virtually by members of Landlord Accreditation Scotland Ltd by which delegates learn webinar materials remotely.

“Registration’’ means a delegate’s record of entry to attend a webinar. 

“Prices” means fees paid by the delegate to Landlord Accreditation Scotland Ltd.

“Delegate” means the individual undertaking the training webinars as notified to Landlord Accreditation Scotland Ltd by the purchaser.

“Working day” means a day that is not a Saturday or Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday or any day that is a public holiday.

“Webinar Material” means information provided by Landlord Accreditation Scotland Ltd to accompany a webinar supplied in electronic form. Resources can include, but are not limited to, printable slides, printable documents, and links to web-based resources.

“Landlord Accreditation Scotland Ltd” when abbreviated reads LAS.

Section B: General Terms

Everyone accessing training is expected to behave in a polite and appropriate manner following the etiquette guide delivered at the beginning of each session. Trainers have the power to exclude any person from the training that is disruptive or offensive. It is the responsibility of the delegate to have the technology required to access the training sessions.

Section C: Prices

The price for attending the training webinars is set out on the LAS website.

All webinar prices include VAT charged at the current UK VAT rate of 20%.

All webinar prices must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Section D: Registration Confirmation

Each delegate will receive a registration confirmation via email once full payment has been received and processed by LAS. 

LAS will not be liable for any expenses incurred ahead of receiving the registration confirmation (such as travel, accommodation, staff cover, personal expenses).  

Section E: Changes / Cancellations to Webinars

LAS reserves the right to change trainer without prior notice.

LAS reserves the right to change/cancel the date of a webinar at short notice where circumstances beyond our control dictate. If the rescheduled date is not suitable, any fees paid will be held in credit or refunded where requested. LAS will not be liable for any costs incurred as a result of the cancellation (such as travel, accommodation, staff cover, personal expenses).  

LAS will not be liable for reimbursing fees if the webinar is cancelled due to circumstances beyond LAS’s reasonable control including, but not limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, transport strikes, closures or delays, Government edict or regulation, or any other force majeure or act of God.

Section F: Delegate Amendments & Cancellations

If the delegate can no longer attend a webinar, or wishes to cancel their registration, the following conditions apply.

For webinar transfers:

If the delegate wishes to transfer to an alternative webinar, this will only be permitted once free of charge. Any subsequent requests to transfer will incur an administration fee.

If the delegate is unable to attend the alternative date, this will be treated as a webinar cancellation.

For webinar cancellations:

If a cancellation is made no later than 5 working days prior to the webinar date, a refund will be offered, minus an administration fee.

Cancellations made less than 5 working days prior to the webinar date will not be eligible for a refund.

Substitution of a delegate is permitted once free of charge. However, if the new delegate does not have a qualifying Accreditation status or SAL membership, the increase in webinar cost will need to be paid at the time of substitution.

Section G: Webinar Attendance & CPD Certification

Delegates need to be present for the full duration of the webinar to be awarded a certificate of formal CPD.

  Accredited Letting Agents[1] will be sent a certificate of formal CPD hours if applicable.  This will      be sent by email up to 5 working days following the webinar date.

Non-Accredited Letting Agents attending Core Information/Best Practice webinars will only be sent a certificate of CPD hours for the attended session if formally requested and subject to payment of the applicable fee.  Requests can be made to the webinar facilitator during the webinar session, or by email up to and including 5 working days from the webinar date.

Section H: Webinar Material

A copy of presentation slides can be made available upon request and will be shared via an online link for download. The link will be valid and available for download up to & including 28 days from the webinar date. Slides will expire 28 days from the webinar date.

      The copyright of all webinar material rests with LAS or the trainer.

Delegates are not permitted to modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the webinar materials without prior written permission from LAS.

Delegates are not authorised to record on video or audio tape, relay by videophone or other means the webinars without prior written permission from LAS.

Section I: Limitation of Liability

 LAS accepts no responsibility for accident, injury or loss suffered whilst accessing our webinars, unless it is due to negligence on our part.

LAS accepts no responsibility for any loss or liability incurred whilst using material or information obtained via participation in the webinars. No liability will be accepted for the accuracy of any information or the consequence of its use.

LAS will use reasonable endeavours to make the webinars available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted, timely or error free availability or that defects will be corrected. LAS will not be held responsible for any delay or disruption in accessing the webinars as a result of suspension to any of the following:

the operation of the internet and world wide web, including but not limited to viruses

any firewall restrictions placed on your network or computer you are using to access the webinar

failures of telecommunications links and equipment

updated browser issues.

No part of the provision of the services shall be deemed to be, nor is it intended to be, nor should it be taken to be, the provision of legal advice.

LAS webinar materials may contain links to third party websites that are not owned or controlled by LAS. LAS accepts no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practises of any third-party website, and is not liable for any loss or damage caused by use or reliance on any such content.

Section J: Data Protection

LAS processes personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act.

When making a booking, your contact details will be stored on our database. We will use this data for the purposes of processing your booking. We may also contact you in the future about other LAS products and services that may be of interest. Section K: Force Majeure

LAS shall not be liable for any breach of its obligations or termination under these terms and conditions arising from causes beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, fires, floods, earthquakes, volcanoes and other Acts of God, terrorism, strikes, delay caused by transport disputes, failure to provide a webinar caused by a death in the trainer’s family, illness of the trainer, Government edict or regulation.

Landlord Accreditation Scotland reserves the right to modify or alter these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
