Lessons Learned from the First Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal Cases - Session 1

In this series of webinars, John Blackwood, Chief Executive of Scottish Association of Landlords (SAL), will share lessons learned from past cases raised at the First-Tier Tribunal (Housing and Property Chamber) (FtT), providing valuable insight in how past decisions have been made. Attending the webinar will allow letting agents to consider where changes may be needed to current procedures and/or practice in their own agencies.

From 1 December 2017, the FtT began to receive applications that would previously have been dealt with in the Sheriff Courts, of non-criminal matters arising from regulated, assured tenancies and short assured tenancies. The Chamber deals with other non-criminal matters arising from the Private Residential Tenancy (Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016 such as evictions, applications for rent assessments and drawing up of terms. From 31st January 2018 the FtT also took on cases arising from letting agent legislation.

Who is this webinar for: The session, which is delivered virtually, is highly recommended for senior letting team members and agency owners and can assist qualified letting agents in gaining required training hours for CPD. This session will provide 1 hour of CPD.
