Tax for Private Landlords - Protect and Exit
This session, delivered in partnership with Price Bailey Chartered Accountants, is part of the Tax for Private Landlords series—four one-hour online sessions.

Each session is designed to stand alone, so you will leave with a complete, actionable understanding of the topic whether you attend one session or all four. Taken together, the series follows a deliberate journey: understand your liability - reduce it - restructure around it - protect what you have built.
The other sessions in the series are:
- Session 1: Know your liability — income tax and Section 24 explained
- Session 2: Reduce what you owe — expenses, allowances, and reliefs
- Session 3: Restructure and remodel — incorporation, LLPs, and Making Tax Digital
This is the fourth webinar in the series. Property can represent a significant part of a landlord's long-term wealth, but without planning, that wealth can be eroded through Capital Gains Tax (CGT) on disposal or Inheritance Tax on death (IHT). This session takes the long view, introducing the key tools and strategies available to landlords who want to protect what they have built, plan for the future, and manage their exit from the sector on their own terms.
Topics include:
- Wealth management — an introduction to Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT), and the use of trusts
- Smart exit strategies — planning disposals and transfers during your lifetime
- Bringing it all together — from understanding your liability through to protecting your legacy
This is the final session in a series that takes landlords from understanding their income tax liability through to long-term wealth and exit planning. Landlords who have attended all four sessions will leave with a complete picture from liability through to legacy.
Who is this webinar for: Private landlords in Scotland, particularly those thinking about the longer-term future of their portfolio. Letting agents supporting landlord clients may also find this session valuable.

Why choose a webinar?
LAS deliver webinars to ensure that no matter where you are in the country you can access the information you need. We provide you with the same essential information you would receive if we were presenting the training face to face. You won’t be on camera, but you can ask as many questions as you wish during the session and we will answer as many as we can.
Our Partners and Sponsorship
In addition to working with Local Authorities, we seek sponsorship from relevant companies. By attracting sponsorship we can continue to develop training and information sessions to provide essential updates and support for landlords and letting agents operating in Scotland. This webinar is delivered by Price Bailey Chartered Accountants.
