Best Practice sessions provide detailed information concentrating on a single topic, allowing a more in-depth look than general information sessions. Landlords and letting agents will benefit equally from attending.
The range of sessions below looks at situations that may occur during a tenancy or procedures that a landlord or agent can put in place that will help with a particular part of the tenancy management process. These topics follow on from the Core Information Programme but can be done as stand alone sessions.

Most private landlords know they pay tax on rental income. Far fewer understand exactly how much, or why. This foundation session details income tax as it applies to your property, and if the restriction on mortgage interest relief affects you, a clear explanation of Section 24 and what it really means for what you owe.

Dampness and condensation are common issues faced by landlords and tenants. This course is for private landlords who wish to prevent issues before they arise. Participants will gain the knowledge to identify early warning signs, different types of damp, understand the impact of building construction, and their legal responsibilities.
