The aim of this offering is to support landlords deal with conflict that can arise during a tenancy.

This module, delivered over two sessions, looks in depth at Section 8 of the The Letting Agent Code of Practice, Handling landlords’ and tenants’ money, and insurance arrangements.

This session provides a practical guide on how a landlord should proceed when it is suspected that a tenant has left a property without giving notice, commonly known as abandonment of a privately rented property. It is not as simple as just clearing the property and looking for another tenant.

This session provides landlords with a guide to the regulations involved in joint repairing responsibilities that come with the ownership of property with communal obligations.

This module focuses on managing the end of a tenancy, covering the period of time from providing notice to completing the check-out inspection. It also examines how to manage difficulties that may arise.

This session provides detailed information about the creation of a Private Residential Tenancy (PRT) using the Scottish Government model tenancy agreement and covers the documentation and associated processes that a landlord needs to be aware of when putting a PRT in place.

This session helps landlords put plans in place to manage the situation when it becomes apparent that the tenant may not pay their rent.

This session provides an overview of the importance of a well-written Landlord Contract or Management Agreement.

This module, delivered over two sessions, explores in detail the regulatory framework of the private rented sector alongside the requirement for set policies and procedures as stated in Section 2 of the Code, Overarching Standards.
